Chili Cook-Off Raised $1353 for Fallen Firefighters
October 13, 2024
Dear TrailMark Residents,
Emotionally, I want to extend a huge thank you to all of you who participated in Lori Ross’ 4th Annual TrailMark Chili Cook-Off to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (https://www.firehero.org/). Like usual, several TrailMark families brought their award winning chili recipes for all of us to taste and indulge. I know several folks said they ate too much!! Awards were given to the winners of the red chili, green chili, and white chili categories. This year’s fan favorite was a fantastic green chili made by JR Hoffschneider. Congratulations to all the winners!!
The Board would like to extend a very warm thank you to Lori Ross for organizing this honorable event. TrailMark residents proudly donated $1353 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Your donations sincerely help many families who recently lost their loved firefighter in the line of duty. Each of those firefighters will have their name inscribed in the NFFF memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Just know that when those families visit Emmitsburg to see their loved one’s name on the NFFF wall, you in fact helped pay for many of those families to grasp some peace and closure at a time of great loss.
Special thanks also goes out to our local South Metro Fire Station #19 as the firefighters came to help judge the chilis, and let the kids play on their cool firetruck. Also, thank you to all of the volunteers who helped Lori Ross put this event together. What a remarkable event to bring our community together and also help all of those firefighters’ families pay tribute to their fallen firefighter who unselfishly gave the ultimate sacrifice of their life to keep each of us safe.
Until next year, please continue to thank all of our firefighters for the dangerous job they withstand every day. TrailMark appreciates and honors all of our firefighters, as they are REAL heroes with red and blue sirens!
Respectfully,
