Stage 2 Fire Ban downgraded to Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

Effective at 7 a.m., Aug. 20, 2024, the Jefferson County Sheriff rescinded the temporary Stage 2 Fire Ban and reinstated Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated Jefferson County.

Recent wet weather has moderated conditions across the country, as we are moving back into a more seasonal pattern of weather with a chance for continued scattered showers. While this is good news, there is plenty of fire season remaining. The #JCSO‘s fire management officer will continue to monitor conditions and if warranted, consider additional changes based on a variety of metrics including weather and fire risk.
