Neighborhood Update:
Motorized and e-moto vehicles prohibited at Hildebrand Ranch Park
Greetings neighbors of Jeffco Open Space Parks,
This is a friendly reminder from Jeffco Parks & Open Space (JCPOS) around the use of motorized vehicles on park properties and trails. We’ve seen an increase in e-motorbikes on the trails at Hildebrand, Deer Creek, and other parks in the system. These bikes are considered motorized and expressly prohibited on JCPOS property in our regulations:
C.16. Hazardous Activity:
C.16.a. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in any careless behavior or activity on Open Space Lands that constitutes a hazard to their safety or to the safety of other visitors. Fine: $125.00
C.16.b. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in any reckless behavior or activity on Open Space Lands that constitutes a hazard to their safety or to the safety of other visitors. Fine: $250.00
C.17. Use of Motorized Vehicles: It shall be unlawful to operate any motorized vehicle, including but not limited to, one wheels and powered scooters, on Open Space Lands except on designated public roadways. Fine: $100.00
You can expect to see an increase in Park Ranger presence and tickets for violations related to Use of Motorized Vehicles and/or Hazardous Activity. Multiple violations could result in additional fines and consideration for closing neighborhood park access points.
