Letter from the HOA President

Dear TrailMark Residents,

I have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for TrailMark over the past six years for the TrailMark HOA. The very first year I was on the HOA Board, I served as the HOA Treasurer. The last five years, I have served as the HOA President.

November 11, 2025 will be my last day as a TrailMark HOA Board Member. My two year term will end at the conclusion of the November annual meeting. I’m formally announcing to the community now that I will not be seeking re-election this November. I feel it’s important to inform the community now so that other folks who are considering running for the HOA Board of Directors will fill out an upcoming self-nomination form and volunteer to help our neighborhood.

Being on the HOA Board is rewarding in the fact that you make decisions to help your fellow neighbors. Despite the toxic rumors on social media, this HOA Board is very friendly, helpful, and committed to keeping TrailMark unique and the sparkling diamond that it is.

My son Domenic will be starting his senior year this fall at Chatfield High School. As his father, I want to be an integral part of his final year of high school. I also look forward to searching for colleges with him and am excited to watch him begin college this time next year. My daughter Sabrina will be starting her freshman year at Chatfield High School this year. Again, I’d like to be available for her foundation of four fun years of high school. I’m really looking forward to this upcoming school year.

Over the past six years, I’ve made a lot of friends here in TrailMark. I’m sincerely grateful for the established friendships that I have built while being an HOA Board Member. I know factually that our HOA Board has helped many of you with many questions, concerns, suggestions, and problems. I’m grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to serve with six different HOA Boards, 4 different HOA Management companies, and 9 different HOA Managers.

TrailMark is in a great position. We currently have a very competent and professional management company in Westwind Management Group. Roxanne, our HOA manager, has been a soaring eagle in making sure that TrailMark never goes through the pain that we suffered years ago with some horrible HOA management companies.

We also have exceptional relationships with all of our HOA vendors, our new HOA attorney, the City of Littleton, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, the TrailMark Metro District, the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, Jefferson County Public Schools, and Jeffco Open Space. Our Committees to the Board are also humming and helping the Board with many tasks behind the scenes that keep TrailMark running smoothly. I thank each committee member on the Design Review Committee, Common Area Committee, Communications Committee, and Social Committee who volunteers their time to help our fellow residents – you are all champions!

I’d like to give a special thanks to Sally Janssen who encouraged me to run for the HOA Board 6 years ago. If it wasn’t for Sally’s encouragement and motivation, I probably would have never run for the Board. Sally was not only patient, but was a great teacher and historian to TrailMark as she taught me and other Board members how to govern according to our bylaws, but also show compassion and be fair to all homeowners. Thanks for showing me the ropes, Sally.

I hope that some of you will be brave and self-nominate yourself for the TrailMark HOA Board this coming fall. We need energetic, trustworthy, motivated, enthusiastic go-getters who will volunteer to help TrailMark. Your community needs you! I’m available to answer any questions or concerns if you are thinking about nominating yourself. I think many of you would enjoy the rewards of serving your community.

In conclusion, I thank all 799 homeowners for accepting me and trusting me to be your HOA President over the last 5 years. I’d also like to thank my family for their tremendous support and patience with all of the HOA responsibilities as their love and devotion helped pave the way. Each day, I’ve given it my all because I absolutely love TrailMark and everything our neighborhood has to offer! All of you have sprinkled your love, appreciation, and kindness to me in more ways than I can describe.

Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart! TrailMark is a very special place to me and my family, because it’s home to you and me.

Respectfully,

Ken Colaizzi, President
