Preventing Crime in TrailMark

At the HOA Board Meeting on May 13th, we had a courtesy visit from one of our local police officers who offered the residents of TrailMark some thoughts on how to stay safe and prevent crime in TrailMark.

Don’t leave car doors unlocked. Thieves will walk down a street checking car doors. When they find one that is unlocked, they have easy access to anything inside the car.

Don’t leave items that look valuable, such as backpacks, within sight. If it looks tempting enough, a thief will not hesitate to break the glass.

Let neighbors know if you notice that their garage door is open at night. If it’s a false alarm, they are sure to appreciate that their neighbors are watching out for them.

Record the serial numbers of tools and other valuable items that are in your garage, in case something is stolen. Later, if the item is recovered, it will be on record and can be returned to the owner.

Security devices such as doorbells, cameras, window sensors and keypads are allowed in TrailMark and do not require DRC review.

With a little awareness, we can make a big difference to keep our neighborhood safe.

Please report any suspicious persons or activity to Littleton Police at 303-794-1551.
