Dear TrailMark Residents,
It has come to the Board’s attention that there has recently been a solicitor going door to door telling TrailMark homeowners that Jellyfish Lighting is permitted in TrailMark. This is not true!
As a refresher, “Jellyfish” lights are the permanent LED lights that are installed on all perimeters of the home (i.e., gutters, soffits, trim, eaves, etc.). The Board has published many articles in the past warning homeowners not to install these types of lights.
All permanent lighting on the exterior of the home requires written DRC permission prior to installing.
Here’s our most recent archived article from 2025 educating residents about Jellyfish Lighting: (https://www.trailmark.org/2025/11/09/holiday-lighting-dos-and-donts/)
Thankfully, a couple of homeowners recently filled out their DRC Home Improvement Request Form prior to installing. These homeowners were denied as Jellyfish Lighting is not allowed on TrailMark homes.
This is a great example of why homeowners should follow the process, because they saved themselves from spending money to install as well as additional money removing this Jellyfish Lighting.
Westwind Management has been given the solicitor’s contact information. Westwind has made contact with the company advising them that they are not allowed to solicit homeowners in TrailMark, nor are they allowed to falsely misrepresent the TrailMark HOA and/or mislead our residents.
Any home that installs Jellyfish Lighting will be required to remove them and could be fined according to our March 12th, 2024 Restrictions on Permanent Outdoor Lighting Policy (https://www.trailmark.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/PermanentOutdoorLightingPolicy_20240312.pdf).
If any other resident is solicited by this Jellyfish Lighting Company, please report it to Westwind at 720-756-3187, or by email at trailmark@westwindmanagement.com.
Thank you,
